Stray Dogs

There are over 1.5 million stray dogs in Bangalore. They actually do periodic counts of all dogs. The dogs are captured then neutered and vaccinated. The ear is then notched to indicate the dog has been vaccinated. Then the dogs are released back onto the streets. Note the notched ear onthis dog I photographed in the Lalbagh Gardens.

Women Laborers

I was hoping to capture photos of these women working. Notice the shallow bowls on top of their hard hats. They bring the concrete to the men who take the bowls and dump them into the molds. Entire building are built this way. You do not see cranes on site. These buildings are not built with steel beams as ours are done.

Bangalore Wild Life

I've decided to call him a Chipwirrel. While this one was photographed at the Lalbagh Gardens, one was trapped in the Raj Pavilion at the Windsor one morning. He was chirping so loud, I thought it was a bird until I looked up. He eventually found his way out but he was one unhappy camper until he did.

Junoon of Jalsa Restaurant

The restaurant was a lot of fun and pretty cheap. I would have loved to show you the costumes worn by the staff but they said I couldn't take any pictures. Hence my stealth photos!

Women Laborers at a Construction Site

These pictures are a little fuzzy because I shot them on a maximum digital zoom. These women have been working on this site ( viewed from my hotel room) 6 days a week. No hard hats in sight. All this concrete is hand-poured by putting a load of concrete in a large shallow bowl. The women then position the bowls on top of their heads ( on a special hard hat with an additional rim on the top for the bowls). They then form a continual line to the site of the pour, going back and forth. Perhaps I'll find another site where I can show you this.

Got Milk? - Bags of Milk in Grocery Store

I'd never seen milk sold in plastic bags, and I nearly took a picture of boxes of ice-cream mix on the shelves.

Flea Market Exit from Temple

The family to the left (woman with her back to camera and the three children)asked me where I was from. When I said, :New Jersey." She smiled and said, "We're from Maryland!"
